Air transportation can be used to transport goods both from and to any international airport, which has the status of a customs airport. A customs airport has the possibility to take receipt of and send goods.
Delivery date
Transportation period varies between 2 and 10 days in relation to the destination and method of delivery. We do however always try to ensure that our consignments are priority transported and within the shortest time possible.
Completion of the air waybill (AWB)
On the basis of information provided, we fill in the air waybill. The following information is necessary:
- Name and address of the sender
- Name and address of the recipient, and where applicable telephone or fax number
- Type of goods (commodity)
- Dimensions in cm (length, width, height)
- Number of items and weight
Each AWB has an 11-digit number and we mark your consignment with the same number, which serves for identification and checking of goods during transportation (see monitoring of consignments)
Volume weight
Some consignments are light but have a large volume. In such cases the charges for their transportation are determined according to the volume weight. Sagitta s.r.o. uses the standard formula of IATA (International Air Transport Association) for calculation of this.
(Length in cm X width in cm X height in cm) / 6000 = volume weight (kg)
If the volume weight is higher than the actual weight of the package, the tariff for volume weight is charged. All consignments, which weight less than 1 kg per 6000 cm3 are considered to be consignments with a low volume weight.
Insurance
Consignments are insured according to the law to the level of USD 20 per 1 kilogram, not however for an amount higher than the declared value of the goods.
We recommend that consignments be additionally insured. The insurance premium tariff is dependent on the commodity and destination country. Please contact our offices for the current tariff scale.
Complaints
In the event of damage to or loss of part of the goods, the recipient must submit a written complaint to the airline company within fourteen (14) days of receipt of the goods.
If goods were not delivered, the recipient must submit a written complaint to the airline company at the latest within one hundred and twenty (120) days of the date the AWB was drawn up or from the day the consignment was sent.
